The Bush administration has made an art out of making us afraid. It is the cornerstone and rationale of the "War on Terror", the invasion of Iraq, the shredding of our Constitution, and the dissolution of some of our most basic freedoms. Lacking any facts, the backing of the international community or any semblance of truth and reality, it was all they had, and it worked. Congress approved and continues to tacitly approve this appallingly expensive (in bodies and dollars) war, people are afraid to walk through an airport or say the wrong thing in public, and a good portion of Americans think Muslims are all out to kill us.

It has to stop. At some point, we have to say, ENOUGH. Who is going to save our country if not the people who founded it - our citizens. We cannot just wait around for Bush's term to expire, and hope without real hope that the next president who comes along will have the balls to fix things. The Congress needs to get off its ass - NOW - and fight to bring our troops home and repair the Constitution. The American people need to rise up and remind their Congressmen who pays their salaries. We need bring those who are actually responsible for 9/11 to justice. I see stories that give me hope, but one isolated event isn't enough. Our President has shamed us, and taken advantage of us, and brought us to the brink of dictatorship, all while thumbing his nose at the law and daring anyone to stop him. America needs to stop being afraid, and call his bluff.
